When I was five years old, I was on the balcony with my older brother Haimy, I looked up at the sky and saw the moon. I then looked at my brother and said “I want that ball”. He reminded me of that story the night of my wedding. Here I was, twenty eight, at the height of my life and getting married to the man of my dreams. We had dated long distance for two years and then I moved to Los Angeles from Montreal , Canada right before my wedding. I sold my shares in a multimillion dollar company that I had started with my brilliant cousin Rita at the age of twenty four to start a new life as a wife and hopefully a mother in Los Angeles. . The night of my wedding, Haimy reminded me, that nothing was ever beyond my reach. If I wanted that ball, If I ever wanted to reach as high as the moon then nothing was going to stop me.
My name is Ariane Mann and I am very proud to say that. I am not a diabetic but rather I HAVE diabetes. What I AM is a thirty five year old strong, content and confident woman. I AM a mother to two beautiful young boys, ages 5 and 3. I AM a wife to a very loving and supportive husband. I AM a successful business woman. I AM an athlete. I am not a diabetic. It doesn’t define me.
I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes when I was twelve. It was an interesting age for me as I was not too young to be clueless and yet still not old enough to really understand.
I decided to start writing this blog because I’m thirty five now and I’ve learned so much throughout my life so far that I feel could help anyone at any age who has diabetes. This will be a positive but realistic blog. I will let you in to what made me who I am, my struggles, my challenges but most importantly how I overcame them and live my life as fully as possible. This blog is for anyone who wants to be so many things, do so many things, achieve endlessly. I’m here and I will write every week to tell you that u CAN.

Our goal in life should be to keep improving ourselves, rather than “being the best.”
